Use a method instead of hoping.
The best travel food plan is not a spreadsheet of every possible restaurant. It is a simple method: learn the staples, save a few places, use markets, carry a backup, and ask clearly.

A good travel food plan starts before hunger.
The first twenty-four hours matter. Know the arrival meal, the breakfast fallback, one grocery or market stop, one restaurant with real options, and the snack that keeps everyone fed while the day changes shape.
In unfamiliar cuisines, learn the staples before you arrive. Find out what the breads, beans, rice, noodles, sauces, soups, oils, and common animal ingredients are called. That gives you a base before you start asking for changes.
The point is not to control the whole trip. The point is to make sure hunger does not control it for you.
The travel method.
Use this before any trip where food could get uncertain.
Research staples
Find the local dishes that are naturally vegan or easy to modify before looking for vegan restaurants.
Save a few places
Mark two restaurants, one market, and one grocery or convenience backup near where you will actually be.
Learn the phrase
Write the no-meat, no-dairy, no-egg basics in the local language and keep them on your phone.
Use markets
Fruit, bread, olives, dips, nuts, pickles, rice, beans, and snacks can make a better lunch than a restaurant that cannot give a clear answer.
Carry gap food
Bars, nuts, dried fruit, instant oatmeal, crackers, and nut butter are boring until you need them.

Look closer
Markets are travel insurance.
A good market gives you food, snacks, breakfast, and a way to taste the place even when restaurant options are thin.
